Did you know there are over 70 million Deaf people in the world, and less than 2% are biblical followers of Jesus? That means more than 98% have not heard or had access to the gospel.

In this nine-week course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of American Sign Language (ASL) that you can use to engage with Deaf individuals wherever you go. You’ll also gain insight into the global Deaf community and how the gospel is beginning to reach this often overlooked population. This class is for ages 12 and up.

ASL 101 - Level 1

ASL 101 - Level 1

ASL 101 is a beginner-friendly introduction to American Sign Language and Deaf culture. You’ll learn foundational signs, basic grammar, and real-world conversation skills—equipping you to communicate with confidence and build meaningful connections.

ASL 201 - Level 2

ASL 201 builds on the foundation of ASL 101, focusing on expanded vocabulary, stronger sentence structure, and more natural conversation skills. This course is designed for students who have successfully completed DU ASL 101 and are ready to grow in fluency and confidence.
